Welcome back ladies and gentlemen!
Today I will be answering the second CCR question for my film opening.
How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
Our target audience is that of all genders aged 18-24, who look forward to watching fast paced films full of thrill and crazy effects. Me and my teammates landed on that target audience after a lot of research on who we want to target during our brainstorming process.
Gruvi. (n.d.). Movie Audience Demographics. Gruvi.tv.
Action-comedies tend to aim for younger audiences due to their constant consumption of digital media.
Younger audiences just want to watch a fun film that they can enjoy when escaping everyday life like school and chores. It is their time to relax and be transported into a different world where big possibilities become true.
Some of the elements that we included in our film opening are big, exciting, and fast paced to catch audiences eyes and keep them engaged.
For example, towards the end of the chase scene, Agent Vienna is across the street from Binzy. A car passes right in front of Agent Vienna and she suddenly disappears. These small camera tricks are a huge factor that maintains audiences excited and on the edge of their seats.
The magic of these effects and crazy stunts plus the funny jokes that gives audiences a good laugh, are the main things that keeps our target audience engaged.
If our film were a real media text, we would distribute our product as dual release, which means both digitally through a streaming platform and a movie theater release at the same time. We want audiences to be able to access our product at the comfort of their home, since younger people are all about efficiency. But, we would also like for people who want the real experience of sitting in a movie theater and enjoying a good film to be able to access the product in theaters.
We grabbed some inspiration for this idea from the movie release of Five Nights at Freddy's who released their movie in theaters and Peacock at the same time.
Me: Alright, next question… How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
Me: That is a good question
Me: Well, our target audience is that of all genders aged 13-18, who enjoy a fast paced film that keeps them entertained. Me and my teammates landed on that target audience after a lot of research on who we want to target during our brainstorming process.
