Today my class and I had our second group meeting to discuss our ideas and our production process with each other. We also had the chance to start talking about our CCR ideas.
The group I worked wit in class today was Julian, Alejandro, Paula, and Lina
We first started talking about Lina's film opening idea.
Lina has this brilliant idea about a girl who is really anti-social. She day-dreams of a better version of herself where she is popular and more social. This different persona sort of comes to life and she can see her through the mirror. Everything is different about this other persona including the colors and the world around her. This film opening's genre is coming of age. She's had a few setbacks for her production process. Her main actor decided that they didn't want to be in the film opening and quit, so she has to re-cast her main character. She also had to change her script because her initial idea was to hallucinate but she thought it would be a better idea to day dream.
Her CCR idea is to have the better version of herself asking her the questions that she needs to answer in the same format as the film opening.

Next we talked about Alejandro's film opening.
Alejandro's film opening is a Fast and Furious inspired action comedy about two characters, Jay and Paulie. Paulie and Jay have to acquire an illegal car part from Mr. Clutch for their race. They are in a really dark alleyway behind a movie theater. I really liked the concept that he was going for but I was worried on how he would execute it. However, the way he explained how they would execute the scenes relieved the doubt. The only setback that he and his team have had is trying to find a good day to film since Alejandro's other two members work but luckily they will start filming today.
Alejandro's CCR is to do an interview format with a host asking him the questions.
We then proceeded to talk about Paula's film opening.
Paula's film opening is a girl who has a mental disease where she has hallucinations and needs to be medicated for it. Her parents died when she was 16 years old so she has been used to living on her own for a fairly long time. One day after visiting her psychologist she realizes she doesn't have the right dosage for her disease and her hallucinations start to bother her. I really liked the idea that Paula has and the way she wants to only focus on diegetic sounds in order to make it more eerie. One of the only setbacks that Paula has had is that she has been too busy to start filming. However, she is also starting to film today.
Paula's CCR idea is to do a live and have the fans ask the questions.

Finally, we discussed Julian's film opening.
Julian's film opening is about this 18 year old soccer player who has been trying to go pro for a long time but he hasn't been able to. On his birthday, his mom gives him letter as a gift from a professional team that is interested in him trying out the next day. When he wakes up the next day he realizes that he is really late for his try out and misses his chance. I like the idea that Julian has for his film opening but he has a lot more to work on.
